In-year admissions

We welcome enquiries from families considering Melbourn Village College during the school year and understand that changing schools mid-year is an important decision for both students and parents. Our priority is to ensure that every new student feels welcomed, supported, and able to settle quickly into school life, both academically and socially.

Applications for places in Years 8, 9, 10 and 11 at any point during the academic year should be made using the Local Authority in-year application form, which must be completed and returned to the Local Authority Admissions Team. Further information is available through Cambridgeshire County Council.

We would be delighted to welcome families who would like to contact us before applying, whether to ask questions, discuss individual circumstances, or arrange a visit to the school. Visiting in person often helps families and students gain a clear sense of our community, expectations, and the support available for a successful transition.

Our staff work closely with students joining mid-year to help them settle confidently, build friendships, and feel part of the school community from the outset.
